Breaking Down Walls with Dr. Steve Taubman

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with the “Mind-mastery” Dr Steve Taubman. Dr. Steve is a former chiropractor who underwent a personal life transformation that led to him to help others in discovering the keys to their success and having the courage to break their self-imposed mental barriers to achieving their dreams. He is currently a bestselling author an international motivational speaker.

Let’s dive into Dr. Steve’s story and learn how he was able to overcome his own walls and chose to be where he is unconditionally happy.

[00:01 – 08:15] Opening Segment

Dr. Steve Taubman’s journey to becoming a best-selling author and international speaker started at the end of his career as a chiropractor. After 14 years of being a chiropractor, he decided on-the-spot to sell his practice, after seeing an ad in a magazine while attending a chiropractic conference. From then on, he started to experience very weird but interesting things.

“Once you’re sure that it’s time to go and you really commit yourself to the next step, the universe becomes a very interesting place,” he says. What did he experience to make him say this? Keep on listening to find out what really happened that made him say this.

[08:16 – 14:55] Finding clarity to move beyond the practice 

After Dr. Steve sold his practice, he jumped on a plane to Guatemala for a vacation. It was here where he had a very magical and transformative experience.

While in Guatemala, Dr. Steve chanced upon a chiropractor’s clinic. There, he met a man who has the same name as him, who’s also a chiropractor from the US, and who also recently sold his practice after 14 years! As if this is not bizarre enough, when Dr. Steve went back to the US, he learned from John, the person who bought his chiropractic practice from him, that the Dr. Steve he met in Guatemala was actually John’s chiropractor. And that the person he sold his practice to? That was John’s best friend!

You may think you’re reading a sci-fi story about an alternate universe but you’re not. In fact, this experience was so magical, Dr. Steve felt it was also very transformative. It made him feel as if this was the Universe’s way of telling him that leaving his chiropractic practice was really what he’s supposed to do. So if there’s somebody out there who’s listening and thinking about moving on and taking the next step, Dr. Steve also wants to share one thing. He wants you to know that it’s worth knowing that it’s okay to be optimistic about taking that leap.

[14:56 – 25:24] Leap into the void

Dr. Steve’s journey to becoming an international speaker started that one time when he performed an act of hypnotism in front of other people. (He went on to become a hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner after leaving chiropractic. His subject then was a kid whom he told that there was a wall 3 feet in front of him. That kid then went on acting like there’s a wall even if there’s really none.

This made Dr. Steve realize that what the kid experienced also happens in real life. That sometimes, we create our own walls. These walls symbolize our limitations, and that the only way to overcome them is to rise above them. All we have to do is just wake up, be more self-aware that there are really no walls. There’s really nothing that keeps us from reaching our own goals and being successful except our own mindsets.

[25:25 – 31:49] How to rise up and break the wall that actually is not there

Ready to rise and break those walls? Dr. Steve wants you to remember three more things. To be able to go where you really want to go, you have to:

  • Commit to the process.
  • Clean up your act.
  • Sharpen your focus.

In addition, Dr. Steve also shares a very helpful mind exercise that hypnotherapists do which can help us better manage and get rid of our own fears. This exercise involves imagining our fears physically getting smaller and smaller until it dissipates. Make sure to listen how Dr. Steve does it too! It’s a very interesting way to deal with our fears!
