7 F’s to Get Your Life Balance with Mike Bjorkman

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the top real estate coaches and property manager, Mike Bjorkman. He is also a well-known author, entrepreneur, speaker, and mentor for some of the country’s top agents. He has been in the real estate profession for almost 30 years and is also awarded a seat on the Top 5 Advisory Board. At present, Mike is very passionate about coaching other entrepreneurs, especially real estate agents—he helps them so they will not experience the same struggles and heartaches that he experienced.

Let’s dive into this episode and find out how to dig deeper into your ‘why’ and have a more balanced mindset that can help you elevate your life.

[00:01 – 09:07] Opening Segment

Before he is the successful real estate agent and coach that he is today and before he first thought about getting into real estate, Mike says he first grew up with a family that has lots of love but not a lot of money. As he was growing up, he started noticing that his friends get to do and have nice things and he doesn’t. This made him start thinking about a way for him to also experience those things which led to asking around about what other successful, rich entrepreneurs do. The answer that he got? None other than Real Estate. And so, this is the story of how Mike got his real estate license when he was only 19. Keep on listening for more motivation about what inspired Mike and how he succeeded in selling houses at this young age.

[09:08 – 16:34] Finding your true Why

Mike recalls his experience asking his friends’ rich dads for advice as his real life Rich Dad Poor Dad experience. However, if you’re going to ask for his ‘why’ then that made him took his business very seriously, it’s probably different from what you usually hear.

Right after finishing high school, Mike started working right away. He did not go to college anymore. According to him, he was already really sick and tired of not having anything. His main motivation then was really just to earn more money. He wanted to make sure his friends see him become successful. He wanted to be able to do a lot of things he wasn’t able to do as he was growing up.

However, as Mike’s career progressed, he eventually discovered the “7 Levels of Finding Your Why.” This was what helped him really discover his deeper why—to be able to take care of his family and help other people not experience the same suffering that he did.

[16:35 – 28:18] 7 F’s to Get Your Life Balance

Faith, family, friends, fitness, finance, future, business, and fun. These are the 7Fs that Mike goes over with the people he is coaching to help them have a more balanced life. According to Mike, every little piece of these 7 Fs is important and missing on just one can make your life become unbalanced already. He also stresses about the importance of checking your balance every day. Living a balanced life is also the key to attracting more people who’ll want to work with you and help you have more success in your business, he says.

In addition to the 7Fs, Mike also emphasizes the importance of having a coach or a mentor. We all need to be able to talk to someone who’s smarter than us, someone who can help us figure out where we need help. So if there’s someone out there who’s listening who haven’t had the chance to talk to a coach or a mentor yet, Mike and I highly recommend it. Having a mentor will surely help you find your way faster to success.

[28:19 – 32:23] The FOCUS FIVE Segment

The FOCUS FIVE are five questions I ask every guest on my show. Keep on listening to find out what book Mike gifts most often; who would he talk to if he can get an hour of any person living or dead, from the past or the present, and why; that one thing he believes but most people will disagree with; his morning routine; and lastly, where are the best places we can connect with him online.
